Prof. Razane Tajeddine

Biography:
Razane Tajeddine received her bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Notre Dame University in 2012, her master's degree in electrical and computer engineering from the American University of Beirut in 2014, and her doctorate degree in Mathematics from Aalto University in 2019. Her research interests are in data privacy, information theory, and trustworthy machine learning. Her paper "Robust Private Information Retrieval from Coded Systems with Byzantine and Colluding Servers" was awarded the 2018 IEEE Finland section best student conference paper award. Between 2019 and 2024, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the University of Helsinki. Her work is on the topics of differential privacy, fairness, and robustness in machine learning and synthetic data generation. She received a three year postdoctoral researcher funding from the research council of Finland to work on these topics in September 2021. Currently, she is an assistant professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the American University of Beirut.
