3 years PhD position or postdoc position within the BMBF project "Information and coding theory for quantum token-based authentication and secure storage".

Stellenangebote |

The institute for communications engineering is currently offering three positions for doctoral candidates or young postdoctoral candidates with the topic “quantum information theory and hardware-related quantum error correction” (TV-L E13) (f/m/x). In this project based on quantum information theory for a uniform system approach, basic protocols for quantum token-based authentication and secure storage are to be developed. Here, quantum token applications are to be examined both as source models and as channel models. The position is initially limited to three years with a possible extension.

Content of the project and areas of responsibility

  • Coding theory and quantum error correction for quantum-based authentication and secure storage,
  • System-related cryptographic analysis and denial-of-service attacks for quantum token-based authentication and secure storage,
  • Coding theory and quantum error correction for different hardware platforms.

Your qualifications

  • High rank university degree in electrical engineering, communications engineering, mathematics, physics (or similar) with thorough knowledge in quantum information and communication theory, as well as in quantum coding theory
  • Interest in theoretical work with high practical relevance
  • Motivation to demonstrate research results on a hardware platform
  • Software: Experience working with MATLAB, C++, Python or similar
  • Goal-oriented, independent and structured work style

Our offer

  • Current research topic in a challenging international working environment
  • Full-time position (TV-L E13) with the possibility of earning a doctoral degree
