Prof. Dr. Ralf Kötter Gedächtnispreis für Fabian Steiner

Fabian Steiner erhält für seine herausragende Master Arbeit am Lehrstuhl für Nachrichtentechnik mit dem Titel "LDPC Code Design for Bit-Metric Decoding" den Prof. Dr. Ralf Kötter Gedächtnispreis. Der mit 500 Euro dotierte Preis ist nach dem 2009 verstorbenen TUM-Ordinarius für Nachrichtentechnik Ralf Kötter benannt. Die Master Arbeit war ein wichtiger Teil eines Vorschlags welche in 2015 einen Bell Labs-Preis erhielt.

Humboldt Fellowship for Negar Kiyavash

Negar Kiyavash will receive a Humboldt Fellowship for Experienced Researchers from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. This prestigious fellowship is granted to approximately 500 applicants annually across all fields of research and at all German universities. Selected for Final Round of Bell Labs Prize 2015

The Rate-X Transceiver of Georg Böcherer, Patrick Schulte, and Fabian Steiner was selected for the final round of the Bell Labs Prize 2015. We will present the potential impact of the Rate-X transceiver on future communication systems to the jury on December 8 in Murray Hill, New Jersey.

Postdeadline Paper at ECOC 2015

Our work Experimental Demonstration of Capacity Increase and Rate-Adaptation by Probabilistically Shaped 64-QAM was accepted as a postdeadline paper at the peer-reviewed European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC). This work was co-authored by Fred Buchali, Georg Böcherer, Wilfried Idler, Laurent Schmalen, Patrick Schulte, and Fabian Steiner.
