SeaClear 1.0 Final Demo in Dubrovnik

On October 12th, the final demonstration of SeaClear 1.0 took place in Dubrovnik, Croatia. During the public demonstration, the innovative SeaClear robotic system successfully collected different types of litter items in the Adriatic Sea.

SeaClear is a Horizon 2020 funded project that addresses the issue of marine litter. Specifically, the SeaClear consortium developed collaborative intelligent robots to remove waste from the ocean using unmanned underwater, unmanned surface vessels and drones.

After the conclusive demonstration, the University of Dubrovnik hosted the SeaClear Final Conference. At this event, the consortium partners discussed the outcomes and technological progress achieved in SeaClear 1.0, while also emphasizing the importance of public awareness and engagement in preserving and cleaning our ocean.

This lays a solid foundation for SeaClear 2.0, where the new design could lift litter loads up to 250 kg!
