We are pleased to announce that a delegation from Tongji University — including Prof. Zhijun Li, Prof. Haisheng Xia, and Prof. Junyin Min — will visit our chair on Thursday, July 31st, from 10:00 to 11:30.
Prof. Zhijun Li (Fellow, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in mechatronics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 2002. From 2003 to 2006, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with The University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan, and the National University of Singapore, Singapore. He is currently a Chair Professor with Tongji University, Shanghai, China, where he has been the Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering in 2024. He has published over 400 papers, where the prestigious contributions were wearable robotics and bio-mechatronics systems. He is a Fellow of AAIA. His current research interests include wearable robotics, biomechatronics systems, and intelligent control. Dr. Li has received the Distinguished Lecturer, the Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher from 2019 to 2023, the 2018 National Ten-Thousand Talents Program in China, and the 2016 National Distinguished Young Scholar.
Prof. Haisheng Xia (Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 2020.,From March 2019 to June 2019, he was a Visiting Scholar with The University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada, and from August 2019 to March 2020, he was a Visiting Scholar with Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea. From July 2020 to January 2024, he was first a Postdoctoral Researcher and then an Associate Professor with the Department of Automation, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China. He is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Mechanical Engineering, Tongji University, Shanghai. He has authored more than 40 papers in international journals and conferences. His research interests include wearable robotics with a focus on human motor and sensory function enhancement. Xia was a recipient of the Best Conference Paper at the IEEE International Conference on Development and Learning (2023) and the Gold Medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva (2024). He is the Chair of the IEEE SMC Technical Committee on Flexible Electronics Systems.
Prof. Junyin Min is a tenured professor and doctoral supervisor at Tongji University. He currently serves as Associate Dean of the School of Mechanical and Energy Engineering and Director of the Sino-German Advanced Manufacturing Center at Tongji University. In 2017, he was selected for China’s National High-Level Overseas Young Talent Introduction Program. He has received the Silver Award for Outstanding Mechanical Doctoral Dissertation from the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and the Shanghai Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award. He has been a Humboldt Research Fellow in Germany, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Michigan and the University of Hawai, and a visiting scientist at General Motors Global R&D Center in the United States.
