Coding Theory and Algorithms for DNA-based Data Storage

ISIT2024 Satellite Workshop

This workshop will focus on coding theory and algorithms for DNA-based data storage and is held on Sunday, July 7, 2024 in Athens, Greece.

It will consist of invited and contributed talks, as well as poster presentations, from researchers and experts. The workshop is organized as a satellite workshop of the 2024 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT2024). It is designed to broaden the participation of researchers in sibling communities, facilitate the exchange of ideas between other fields and information theory and enrich the experience of regular attendees.

The ISIT2024 will be held in person from July 7 to July 12 in Athens, Greece. Please visit the ISIT2024 website for more details about the associated conference organization and for the workshop registration.

Topics of Interest

The workshop will focus on coding theory and algorithms for DNA-based data storage. The main topics are:

  • Sequence reconstruction and codes correcting edit errors
  • Emerging sequencing technologies
  • Coding for native DNA-based data storage systems
  • Information aspects of high throughput synthetic biology
  • Machine learning approaches for data reconstruction in DNA-based storage systems

Contributing

If you are interested in contributing a talk or poster, please submit an abstract of at most 300 words of your research, including a title and a list of authors with affiliations. Proposals for contributions are accepted via the contribution submission portal.
