For the paper "Produktionssteuerung auf der Grundlage von Echtzeitautomaten", Prof. Stursberg receives the best paper award 2008 of the journal "at-Automatisierungstechnik" (in the category 'Methods'). The paper, which is joint work with Dr. Sebastian Panek and Prof. Sebastian Engell, reports on an approach to optimally compute control schedules for production processes.

For her Master thesis entitled "Entwicklung eines VR-Versuchsstands zur Simulation von Fahrzeugtüren", Claudia Ehinger is honored by the Volkswagen AG. She receives the "Woman Driving Award 2008", associated with 5.000 Euros. The research work, which was carried out in cooperation with BMW AG (Dipl.-Ing. F. Soldner) and supervised by Michael Strolz and Prof. Martin Buss, resulted in a novel VR test bed for the simulation of both conventional and actuated car doors.
