HOW TO REACH US

Public Transportation

By Underground (U-Bahn)

Overall travel time approx.: 45 min.

From Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) take the U4 or U5 (eastbound towards “Arabellapark” or “Neuperlach Süd”) to Odeonsplatz Station. At Odeonsplatz change to the line U6 (in Richtung „Garching Forschungszentrum“ / northbound towards “Garching Forschungszentrum”). Exit at the final stop “Garching Forschungszentrum”.
From the city center (e.g. Marienplatz), take the U6 (Richtung „Garching Forschungszentrum“ / northbound towards “Garching Forschungszentrum”). Exit at the final stop “Garching Forschungszentrum”.

When you exit from the U-Bahn and turn left, this is the entrance of the building (Mechanical Engineering) that you have to walk through.

Once at “Garching Forschungszentrum”, you have 2 options:

You can take the Bus 292, 230, 690, or the X660 one stop to “Garching (b München) Lichtenbergstrasse, head east on Lichtenbergstraße, cross the road, turn left onto Hans-Piloty-Str., turn right onto Friedrich-Ludwig-Bauer-Straße to Siemens Technology Center (Green color in the image above).
Alternatively, you can walk all the way: exit at the northern exit of the U-Bahn (front side of the train) and turn left. Cross the road and enter the building in front of you (Mechanical Enginnering building). Go through all the building and exit from the other side, walk around the small lake and take the second bridge, and take Friedrich-Ludwig-Bauer-Straße to Siemens Technology Center (Red color in the image above).

From Munich International Airport (München Flughafen – MUC) there are two options:

Take the S8 (direction Herrsching) or S1 (direction Leuchtenbergring/Laim) to Marienplatz. At Marienplatz, transfer to the U6 (U-Bahn), direction Garching-Forschungszentrum (northbound) – time approx. 1h30min
Take the S1 (direction Leuchtenbergring/Laim) to Neufharn, exit via Zu Bahnhf Tunnel and take the bus 690 (direction Garching Forschungszentrum). Ride 8 stops to Garching, Ludwig-Prandtl-Str., then take Friedrich-Ludwig-Bauer-Straße to Siemens Technology Center. – time approx. 40min.

Driving Directions

From the Airport (distance ~12 km, Total time: ~15–20 minutes)

Coming from Munich Airport merge onto the autobahn A92 toward Munich. At the interchange “Neufahrn” keep right and follow the signs for A9 toward Munich. Take exit “Garching Nord” (Exit 70) towards Forschungszentrum / TUM. Turn left onto Lichtenbergstraße and Siemens Technology Center is on your left.
Alternatively, take the A92 as above, then exit at “Freising Süd” for highway B11 toward Munich. Take exit “Hochschul-und Forschungszentrum / TUM”, Zufahrt Nord”.

From the City Center (distance ~20 km, Total time: ~25–30 minutes)

Start from Munich city center (e.g. Marienplatz / Karlsplatz area). Get onto the Mittlerer Ring (B2R) – Munich’s inner ring road and follow signs for A9 Nürnberg (northbound). Then you can join the A9 via the Schwabing or Fröttmaning on-ramp. Take “Garching-Nord” (Exit 70) towards Forschungszentrum / TUM. Turn left onto Lichtenbergstraße and Siemens Technology Center is on your left.

By Taxi

From the airport: approx. 20-30 min, 60-70 €

From the city center: approx. 20-30 min, 55-75 €
