Project Objective
This project aims to develop a 5G wireless communication system for TUM Hyperloop demonstrator and future Hyperloop systems. Contrary to conventional understanding, the potential of 5G extends beyond high throughput in traditional networks. Its effectiveness lies in nontraditional network settings characterized by diverse requirements, including latency, reliability, coverage, energy efficiency, and support for many devices. Next-generation transport vehicles like the Hyperloop require seamless and reliable train-to-ground communication to operate. Specifically focusing on the Hyperloop as a scenario of interest due to its significance as the potential future of high-speed travel, this project intends to determine how 5G could improve system performance and safety measures in such advanced transportation networks.
