Initiatives for School Girls
Here you find a selection of past and future initiatives for school girls at the Department CE.
Girls' Day: Girls' Future Day
The Department of Computer Engineering regularly offers workshops at the German-wide Girls' Day on 23 April. In the following is a selection of past workshops.
Workshops in April 2025
The Chair of Automatic Control offered a workshop for 10-12-year-old girls. We programmed microcontrollers and actuated a small wheeled robot.

TUM Entdeckerinnen: STEM experience at university
We regularly offer workshops for the TUM Entdeckerinnen program during the first three weeks of the Bavarian summer holidays. In the following, you will find a selection of past and upcoming workshops.
Workshops in Summer 2025

The Professorship AI Planning in Dynamic Environments offers a robotics workshop for TUM Entdeckerinnen. The Workshop addresses school girls close to their graduation who are considering studying a MINT study program. We will build robot fingers and program them. The workshop is designed for 16 to 18-year-old girls.

Together with the Professorship of Bio-inspired Information Processing, discover exciting and surprising forms of electricity. On the first day, we will show you how electricity works, and we will do experiments with light, motion, and sound. On the second day, you will learn more about electric signals in your body and why they are important for muscles and senses. We measure the current in your arms, design and build pressure sensors similar to your fingers, and show you how hearing is like with a cochlear implant. The workshop is designed for 11 to 12-year-old girls.

Dive into the world of robotics together with the Professorship for Cyber Physical Systems. You learn how robots think, move, and solve tasks. You will build a real robot arm from modules, control it, and finally explore how sensors, motors, and code work together. The workshop is designed for 11-12-year-old girls.
