Curriculum Vitae

Jorge is mainly interested in the analysis of neural oscillations in psychopathological conditions, as compared to regular physiology. Particular focus in schizophrenia and psychosis, general anxiety disorder and depression. Development of ill-driven brain maps based on biomarkers which, in conjunction with electric/magnetic stimulation, could suppress or enhance abnormal brain activity. An enthusiast of education, philosophy, generation of knowledge, critical thinking, and the creation of disruptive technologies that benefit lives.

Research

  • Simulation of magnetoelectric nanoparticles under TMS, using Sim4Life software (Zurich Med Tech).
  • Simulation of neuronal activation in cortical and deep structures of the brain, in anatomically accurate models.
  • Integration of both models, observing neuronal activation elicited by magnetic stimulation of the nanoparticles.
