AI-based Modelling and Control for Safe Autonomy
The final workshop
As part of the project activities, the final workshop, “AI-based Modelling and Control for Safe Autonomy,” will be jointly organised in Germany and hosted by Prof. Sandra Hirche, Chair of Information-Oriented Control at the Technical University of Munich (TUM).
The workshop will bring together researchers from Germany and China to present and discuss recent advances in AI-based modelling, learning, control, and safe autonomy. It will provide an opportunity to disseminate the project's outcomes to researchers in Germany and across Europe, while also highlighting the research collaboration and knowledge exchange established between Germany and China through the project. In particular, the workshop will demonstrate how collaborative research can advance reinforcement learning, data-driven modelling, and intelligent control, with the aim of encouraging new and sustained research collaborations between the two countries.
The programme features contributions from researchers from both USTC and TUM, covering a broad range of topics related to autonomous systems, distributed resource allocation, learning-based modelling and control. The workshop will also feature an invited presentation by Prof. Karl Worthmann, Ilmenau University of Technology, on “Koopman operator theory”, providing an external perspective on a theoretical framework that is increasingly relevant to data-driven modelling and control.
Additionally, Prof. Qichao Ma of the University of Science and Technology of China will present “Robot Autonomy in Complex Dynamic Environments,” focusing on the challenges and recent advancements in enabling robots to operate reliably and autonomously in complex, dynamic environments.
Collectively, all presentations will expand the workshop’s scope by linking foundational theoretical developments with practical challenges in intelligent and autonomous systems.
