Towards the end of my bachelor studies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, my interest in brain & AI brought me to an internship at a start-up developing photonic computing for AI in Paris. Here I was introduced to neuromorphic computing, further increasing my interest in brain-like computing & AI and paving my way into Neuroengineering Master program at TUM. Throughout my master’s studies, I conducted my research on neuromorphic models of cerebellum and visual cortex for robotics applications at TUM and Intel, respectively. Integrating neuroscientific knowledge into AI research for practical applications has been main pillar of these projects are considered and I believe training/running SNN (Spiking Neural Networks – the 3rd generation of neural networks) fast and efficiently in neuromorphic hardware will pave the way for new breakthroughs in AI.
Since June 2021, I am a doctoral student at Intel and Institute for Cognitive Systems (ICS). At Intel my research involves developing new brain-inspired algorithms and applications for neuromorphic chip Loihi which will be deployed as “brain” in robotic systems that can learn and act in real life settings. my email at Intel is: firstname.lastname@example.org.
