Curriculum Vitae

Jonathan Külz joined the Cyber Physical Systems Group as a doctoral candidate under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Althoff in November 2021. He received his bachelor's degree in Mechatronics and Information Technology from the Karlsruher Institute of Technology (KIT) and his master's degree in Robotics, Cognition, Intelligence from the Technical University Munich (TUM).

His research includes:

  • Algorithmic synthesis of modular robot compositions
  • Unifying benchmarks for modular and industrial robotics
  • End-to-end learning of robot morphology and control

Offered Thesis Topics

I am always looking for self-motivated students that want to work in my research area. If you are interested in writing your thesis in one of the mentioned available topics or the field of modular robotics in general, please write me a mail containing CV, transcript, and a concise statement of motivation.

Available Bachelor and Master Theses

  • Currently, there are no open thesis proposals. However, if you are interested in writing a bachelor and master theses in the following areas:
    • Fully automated design of automation work-cells
    • Robot morphology design using machine learning,
    • Robot morphology design using constrained optimization algorithms, or
    • Dynamic model identification for robotic manipulators

please reach out to me, sending me a transcript, a CV, and some background information about the topic you are interested in and why.
