On December 6, 2019, the Bund der Freunde der Technische Universität München awarded Dr.-Ing. Daniel Mueller-Gritschneder for his Habilitation Thesis. In Germany, the habilitation thesis is the certification for professoral research and teaching.

Since July 2019, afte havgin completed his habilitation, Daniel is a senior lecturer ("Privatdozent") in the area of Electronic System Level Design Methods.
